…With a new apartment, better internet connection and an expensive lesson to share!
Yes, I have just moved out of my roach infested albeit very warm place into a wee efficiency studio, about 400 sq ft in total. It’s a one room apartment but very, very cosy and easy to heat up. The last point being the most important because winter in the midwest seems to pounce on you like a hungry lion. One week you’re in the 70′s (about 20 degrees Celsius), next thing you’re down to the 30′s (a measly 2 degrees Celsius). But my new place heats up in about 15 minutes and I bought an amazing new comforter which keeps me very toasty in bed.
I’ve also got my new internet connection setup – had to go without for almost a week! Nearly went insane (sorry exaggeration… I’m already insane).
And last but not least, my expensive lesson to share with you all: Don’t Write Checks Then Transfer All Your Money To Your Savings. It might sound like a great idea (hey higher interest!) but when they cash your check in a month later, it will bounce and the vampires bank will take you for a fee. And to top it off, the people who you wrote the check too will also charge you a fee for when their vampire bank charges them. I have never heard of such a ridiculous system where you essentially get fined twice for one mistake. But this is life and banks are dumb. You might as well stick your money in some good investments and keep the rest under your pillow at home… but I digress.
Keep warm! Nano still going for two days but I don’t think I’ll make it… but will try for the second chance i.e. finishing by December.
