2012 (in more or less chronological order)
In Progress:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (currently reading)
March
Knock by Fredric Brown – Beautiful short story. Also known for starting the shortest horror story of only two sentences and three ellipses…
February
Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein – Interesting story. Made me think about what life would be like as a marine.
Wool by Hugh Howie – Absolutely phenomenal short story. This has pretty much redefined my conception of how compelling a short story could be.
January
The Giver by Lois Lowry – Great book, I couldn’t put it down. There was a rather haunting scene in there which I think will be with me awhile.
The Complete Works of H. P. Lovecraft (available as a free download – thanks Cthulhuchick!), of which I have read:
The Tomb
Dagon
Polaris
Beyond the Wall of Sleep
Event Horizon [Kindle Single] by Scott McElhany – Interesting story about a time-traveller going to the future after the rapture.
The Southern Vampire Mysteries (Books 1-8) by Charlaine Harris – Trashy, trashy stories but help me! I had to finish them!
Ha I just finished Pride and Prejudice, quite liked it. And if you think Charlaine Harris’ books are trashy, don’t ever watch the show! :p I am a big fan of her though and True Blood, can’t help it. Have you heard of goodreads.com? I love the site, I was a bit addicted to it for the first month I was on there because I found so many books I loved and wanted to read and you could do a similar thing on here and show current reads, what you’ve read and what you would like to read.
That’s sort of the plan with the books. I have heard of goodreads but haven’t really tried it out yet.
Lol, about Charlaine Harris… Well what can I say? I read through all 8 books in two weeks (because that’s how long I had them from the library)! Sometimes trashy is a good thing
